The King’s Cross area is undergoing a major transformation. Several large re-development schemes are underway with more planned.

1.
Regent Quarter 5.8 acres immediately east of King’s Cross
St Pancras station. A mixed use scheme providing 220,000 sq ft
(20,439 sq m) of offices, 63,600 sq ft (5,908 sq m) of retail and restaurant space, together with 142 residential units and a 277-bed hotel.

2. St Pancras Chambers The Manhattan Loft Corporation is refurbishing the Victorian Gothic Hotel which will become St Pancras Chambers. Along with a five-star, 240-bed Marriot Hotel on the first two floors, there will be 68 private residential flats on floors two to six.

3. King’s Cross Central The regeneration of this 65-acre site will result in approximately 7.5 million sq ft (700,000 sq m) of mixed use development. Up to 5.25 million sq ft (485,000 sq m) of offices will be provided along with around 1,800 new homes. In addition retail, leisure, hotels, health, education and cultural uses will be integrated into the site.

4. King’s Place King’s Place will provide 300,000 sq ft (27,870 sq m) of newly constructed offices, with a waterfront restaurant, bars and brasserie, a sculpture gallery, studio, art gallery and 425-seat concert hall. 150,000 sq ft (13,935 sq m) of offices have been pre-let to Guardian Newspapers with occupation expected in the first quarter of 2008.

5. The Courtyard UK Real Estates is developing a new complex to provide 11 residential units, a theatre and restaurants.
